About me
Ironbrand Creative is a Graphic Design agency founded and run by myself, Mike Shorts. I’ve lived in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia for over 25 years, and through that time I’ve always had a passion for art. I’ve searched and planned through various creative pathways, from struggling artist, magazine creator, and artist interviews, to comic illustrations and graphic design. My entire life has been devoted to the pursuit of creative expression.
In 2015 I became the first in my family to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from FullSail University, which has been regarded as one of the Top Design Schools in the Nation.
My lifelong mission has been to find new and exciting ways to express my passion for the arts.

Family to me, is the most important thing in the world. I’m half Filipino, on my mother’s side, and was raised on the foundation that family is everything. Originally born in Georgia (my Father was in the army) I have lived in Virginia for over 25 years and grew up with a love for art and creativity. My family has always been supportive of my creative expression…except for the few tattoos that I’ve gotten over the years, but that’s growing on them too!
Echo A.K.A “The Bud”
Echo has been by my side for a long time, over 8 years! He is a 70lb pitbull rocket/ couch potato. Echo is critical to the mission here at Ironbrand. His duties are to remind me to take him for walks, to declare food breaks, and to provide creative outlets in the form of playing fetch! He is very good at what he does!
